Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that he has ambitions to coach the Spain national team.

The 46-year-old, who was in charge of Barcelona for four years, is in just his second season at City and is yet to win any silverware with the North-West outfit.

Last season, the Cityzens finished third in the Premier League table, but currently they are in a strong position for a title challenge as they reside at the top of the standings on level points with Manchester United.

While speaking to Gary Lineker for the BBC’s The Premier League Show, Guardiola insisted that he is content at City, but would like to coach his nation at some point.

“I am so happy to be here. It will depend on the success that you have. At big clubs like Manchester City if you do not win, you cannot stay.

“[I would like to coach] Spain, I think. I would like to be a manager in the World Cup, the European [Championships]. I would like to feel it.”

City are unbeaten in 10 games in all competitions.
